Door to door

I had a guy come to my door today who was selling candy (and possibly some other things... I stopped him after he showed me his first item - I wasn't planning on buying anything) as a part of a program to keep kids off the street and away from alcohol and drugs. Now I think that is a great program, however I don't think that they are going about this the right way. Selling stuff door to door is not a good way to give people work and it isn't good for their self esteme either. I tried to be nice to this guys, but there was no way that this guy was going to sell me candy, he was out from the start. I imagine a lot of other people are the same way but I think there are also a lot of people that wouldn't treat the guy so nice as well. It is just a bad system. Also, I don't think there are any products the guy could sell that I would want to buy from a guy going door to door, I mean its either crap or stuff I just don't need.

I'm sure there is a poem in there about door to door sales men, but I just don't have it yet.
